Certificate IV in Frontline Management
This course is for people who work in a in team leader, supervisory, front desk or line management position across a range of industry sectors and wish to gain a formal qualification, or people wishing to acquire the skills required to perform such a position. Students will learn how to provide leadership and guidance in the workplace, how to promote team effectiveness & innovation, as well as develop teams & individuals. You will also learn how to implement operational plans & how to establish effective workplace relations & produce continuous improvements.
This qualification aims to make you an effective manager by reflecting the role of individuals who take the first line of management in a wide range of organisational and industry contexts. They may have existing qualifications and technical skills in any given vocation or profession, yet require skills or recognition in supervisory functions.
Entry requirements
There are no prerequisites for this course however it is desired that candidates enter the qualification through a number of entry points demonstrating potential to undertake vocational education and training at certificate level, including:
- after achieving the BSB31207 Certificate III Frontline Management or other relevant qualification/s or
- providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB31207Certificate III Frontline Management or
- with some vocational experience in a supervisory role but no formal qualification.
Career opportunities/vocational outcomes
Include but not limited to accounts clerk, customer service advisor, office administrator and import/export clerk.
Program Articulation
Students who successfully complete this course are able to gain articulation into BSB51107 Diploma of Management or a range of other Diploma qualifications.
Program Duration
Full Time: 6 months
Part Time: 12 months

Course Commencement
Courses commence in February, April, July and September each year for full time and part time applicants.
Delivery Methods
This course is delivered through face to face classroom learning or by correspondence.
Assessment Methods
Students may be required to sit written and oral exams, participate in practical activities, complete assignments, presentations, vocational projects and role plays.
Students undertaking a course as part of a work based traineeship will be assessed in the workplace.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Participants with previous training and/or experience may apply for RPL. Participants who have completed courses with equivalent / matching learning outcomes, will be granted credit transfer.

Qualifications granted by Australian Academy are accredited by the Queensland Government through the Department of Education, Training and the Arts. This program is nationally recognised under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). National Training Provider No: 31716
Course Structure
To achieve a Certificate IV in Marketing, the qualification packaging rules requires completion of 10 units:
- 4 core unit
- plus 6 elective units:
- a minimum of 3 elective units must be selected from the Training package suggested elective units
- The other 3 elective units may be selected from the remaining suggested elective units, the BSB07 Business Services Training Package or any other currently endorsed National Training Package. If not listed within the units of this qualification, 1 unit may be selected from either a Certificate III or a Diploma qualification.
In all cases selection of electives must be guided by the job outcome sought, local industry requirements and the characteristics of this qualification.
This course has been designed to reflect the packaging requirements of the Certificate IV in Frontline Management BSB40807 from the Business Services Training Package BSB07.
Units selected from other Training Packages must not duplicate units selected from or available within the BSB07 Business Services Training Package.
