Certificate IV in Asset Maintenance

These nationally recognised qualifications in cleaning operations and management are the training standards in the cleaning industry. The courses are specifically for staff who are working as contract cleaners or in-house cleaners in a variety of settings including retail centres, office blocks, health care and aged care and the industrial sector.

At the Certificate IV level students are provided with knowledge and basic domestic and commercial cleaning skills to enable them to perform all general cleaning duties.

All cleaning courses offer students hands-on practical and technical skills. The higher-level qualifications also focus on management and supervisory skills.

Entry requirements

Year 12 completed or Certificate III qualification.

Career opportunities

This course provides candidates with the skills, attributes and knowledge to be able to undertake job roles that may include Domestic Cleaner or Commercial Cleaner.

Program Articulation
 
By successfully completing a Certificate IV in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations), the participant is eligible to continue their studies and enrol in a Diploma program.

Program Duration

Full Time: 12 Months
Part Time: 24 Months

Course Commencement

Courses commence in February, April, July and September each year for full time and part time applicants.

Traineeships courses commence can be at any time of the year.

Delivery Methods
 
This course is delivered through face to face classroom learning or by correspondence.

Traineeships training are a combination of both on and off-the-job components and critiques carried out by a workplace supervisor.

Assessment Methods

Students may be required to sit written and oral exams, participate in practical activities, complete assignments, presentations, vocational projects and role plays.

Students undertaking a course as part of a work based traineeship will be assessed in the workplace.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Participants with previous training and/or experience may apply for (RPL). Participants, who have completed courses with equivalent / matching learning outcomes, will be granted credit transfer.

Course Structure

To achieve recognition at Certificate IV level, the candidate for recognition must demonstrate competency in all 8 core units plus 5 elective units (total of 13 units).

The elective units may include PRMCMN403A Facilitate effective teamwork, or any level IV (or above) units from BSB07 Business Services Training Package or TAA04 Training and Assessment Training Package other than those listed below or those that are equivalent to these units.
