Government Subsidised Training

Australian Academy students’ are able to access Queensland Government subsidised training once eligibility criteria has been confirmed

Year 12  student who have completed Year 12 within the last 12 months may be eligible for fee free training through the government funding for high priority qualifications.

Students undertaking funded programs are required and agree to complete surveys regardless of completion or withdraw from the program prior to completion. These surveys will be emailed and mailed to the last known address.

As a result of starting any funded training Students may be ineligible for any future funded training. Check the relevant funding to determine what funding entitlements maybe available in the future.

User Choice  for traineeships and apprenticeships

The User choice program provides a public funding contribution towards the cost of training and assessment for eligible Queensland apprentices and trainees.

To be eligible for a government contribution towards the costs of training, an apprentice or trainee must have entered into a training contract for a qualification that is funded by DET and be registered in DET’s registration system DELTA.

The government contribution for a User Choice funding contribution is detailed in the apprentice or trainee’s letter of registration from DET.

Apprentices and trainees can only receive one government contribution for a User Choice funded qualification at any single point in time, i.e. a student is not funded to undertake two apprenticeships or traineeships at the same time.

In addition, apprentices and trainees can only receive a maximum of two government funding contributions under the current User Choice Program.

Students are required to pay a co-contribution fee currently $1.60 per nominal hour of training to determine the cost of your course based please contact Australian Academy. An invoice is raised and presented at the first visit by the trainer, payment plans are agreed at that time

Certificate 3 Guarantee Program

The program is open to any Queensland resident aged 15 years or over who is no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students) and is an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and on the pathway to permanent residency. Prospective students must not have or be enrolled in a certificate III level or higher qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training).

The Certificate 3 Guarantee is a key initiative under the Queensland Government’s five-year training reform action plan, Great skills Real opportunities.

The Certificate 3 Guarantee supports eligible individuals to complete their first post-school certificate III level qualification and increase their skills to move into employment, re-enter the workforce or advance their career.

It also supports Queensland’s Year 12 graduates to transition to employment by providing fee-free training in high priority qualifications.

Students can only access the Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidy once, it is important students choose the right course for you to take full advantage of this opportunity.

Students undertaking certificate III level training and non-concessional students undertaking lower level training are required to contribute to the costs of their training through a co-contribution  fee. These fees are collected up front at the time enrolment
