Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply the skills and knowledge to pursue a range of roles within the Australian sport industry.
They work or volunteer at community-based sport clubs and organisations in the Australian sport industry. Individuals with this qualification are involved in the self-directed application of knowledge and skills, and the provision of leadership and support to colleagues. They work autonomously and coordinate and supervise others.

RTO Eligibility

1. Students are required to successfully complete the Language Literacy and Numeracy test through online system (LLN Robot)
2. Satisfactorily complete a pre-enrolment process to determine student’s suitability for the chosen course.
3. Students are required to be physically fit to be able to perform some tasks required for methods of assessments.
4. Having access to the following is desirable for the successful completion of assessments and for research purposes:

• Desktop computer, laptop or tablet
• Microsoft Office or equivalent
• Internet connection
• A web camera and a speaker
• Access to software to view online videos and images, such as Adobe Reader, Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer, which are available as a download from the internet.

All student’s will receive a Letter of Offer Training and Support Plan once your enrolment process has been completed.

RPL & Credit Transfer

You may already have a high level of skills, knowledge, or expertise in this industry this is identified as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Do you hold any other Certificates in the same industry? You can apply for Credit Transfer. Seeking either RPL or credit transfer apply on your enrolment form.

Equipment Requirements

Sport Management Stream only
To gain this qualification successful, part of the assessment methods, you will need to have access to sporting equipment and access to athletes in your selected sport or people willing to undertake training your selected coaching programs

• Gym or equipment access (e.g. resistance equipment weights cardio equipment)
• Video reordering equipment (Mobile Phone)
• Speed Agility and Quickness equipment (e.g. markers, cones, agility poles, stop watches, sleds, ladders)
• Field Access (if required for your sport requires)
• Pool Access and equipment (e.g. noodles, kickboards, stop watches)
• Sports equipment (e.g. specific to your sport balls, pads, shields)
• Fitness Testing equipment (will depend on the fitness tests required)
• Bibs and Whistles (if required for your sport requires)
• Soft resistance equipment (medicine balls, thera-bands)
• Heart rate monitors
• First Aid Kits

To be assessed as competent, learners need to provide satisfactory evidence to all the assessment requirements relating to their knowledge and skills relevant to the unit of competence.
